In my upcoming book, Avala: Spirits of the Mindscapes - Book 1: Hope, both the humans, and their enemy, the Yajirans possess a type of technology called MELT technology. There are a few applications for MELT technology: MELT transportation, MELT scanning, MELT tunnels, and MELT beacons. Let me go into the details.
MELT transportation is a form of long distance transportation capable of transporting objects and people light years away with great precision in a matter of moments. The use of MELT transporters has negated the need for everyday space travel, as entire networks of MELT transporters exist across much of the claimed galaxy.
MELT scanning is used to scan a location at the same range and precision as MELT transports, in a matter of moments. This type of scanning can detect visuals, life signs, atmosphere, radiation levels, and much more. MELT scanning can not scan extremely large areas due to it scanning via a pulse; it gets everything in a small area all at once, and needs to cool down afterwards. This type of scanning is essential in exploration efforts of unexplored world using MELT transporters, due to being able to tell if a location is habitable or not.
MELT tunnels are MELT transporters in the form of a tunnel. Something enters one end and when they come out the other, they are in a connected location light years away. This is useful for setting up connected areas that have a lot of traffic, since you don't need an operator scanning then defining a MELT location every single time.
MELT beacons use the faster of light capabilities of MELT technology to signal the nearby area as a MELT point for a connected Transporter. This allows quicker and more accurate transportation to an area, and is mostly used with setting up new bases, or bringing in armies. They are meant to be temporary, and are often redeployed elsewhere. MELT beacons come in various sizes, such as a single person transponder, a basketball sized portable version, or a massive army sized beacons that must be MELTED in themselves.
That's all for now. I'm looking forward to starting my Kickstarter within the next few weeks. Keep an eye out for updates. So long...
