What's with the tranquilizer dart weaponry? Why can't you just use stun beam weaponry?

Beam weaponry gives off a power signature that can be tracked from a mile or so away. That means that the Yajixa, who have technology years ahead of us, would be able to tell exactly what size a force we have, and would be able to defend accordingly. No, this way, the only way they can tell how many of us there are is through life signatures. Which already get severely distorted underground!

Typical Spy. Worried about getting caught. Back in my day in Special Forces, we just went in guns blazing with kick as high tech weaponry and entire armies after our small squad of seven and still got the job done! Yet you spies seem so worried about a simple beam weapon signature!
