Today I'd like to introduce a new series of character diaries, this time for the Echarikith characters Echniath, Elizba, and Noochi. These three characters each play an important role in the book Avala: Spirits of the Mindscapes - Book 1: Hope, yet because the three characters are so intrinsically linked, they will be together in one diary series.
Now, without further ado, here is Entry 1.
0, 0, 0, 3, 0, 0, 0, 1, 2, 7, 21, 37 – After the Fall of the Seventh Core
Echniath: After so long, I’m finally free of the Yajixa. The girl that saved me is the same one that I knew would save us all. I foresaw so long ago how Avala would save us. It seems like ages now, longer than it should have been. But I’ve checked with the Engine of Time, its only been 3 Long Cycles, 1 Short Cycle, 2 Small Cycles, 7 Tiny Cycles, 21 Micro Cycles, and 37 Nano Cycles since the fall of our seventh core.
I’m writing this all down with the strange technology of these humans, using our own language, which they somehow have translated enough for me to write in. I want there to be a record of everything that has happened, and will as of yet happen, so that the Echarikith Consciousness does not forget. It is my duty as the only Echarikith free at this time.
Avala, the girl from my first prophecy, is a Yajixa. Yet she is not like the ones who caged us. She freed me from her mindscape, just as I knew she would. She has promised to help us to free the rest of the Echarikith. It will be a long journey, but we will one day be free.
But… I am lonely. I miss my friends. I miss my people. I miss my home. I miss it all. The Yajixa took everything from us, and now I am alone. Though I know another will come soon. I know I will be reunited with Elizba soon. That was another prophecy I made in our desperation to stop the Yajixa from winning forever. After the fall of the core, we had only about 1 small cycle before they found the last of us in Ecrekio. But we made the most of that small cycle, we made prophecy after prophecy, forcing fate to go our way, so that Avala would have victory. And in the process we made the Athakri, who would aid in these plans. And then… they took us, the last of us.
Since then I have spent so long trapped in a Yajixa’s mindscape, being drained of my power, my very spirit fueling the magics of the Yajixa. I watched as the Yajixa slaughtered so many worlds, so many people. They plundered the remains of our civilization, to advanced themselves further. They created the withering sickness that spread across the galaxy which created old age to fight the Saolavis who were rising up against them less than 3 medium cycles after we were gone. I watched as three of their leaders betrayed their kin and freed those of us that they had enslaved, only for our kind to be re enslaved by the remaining ten.
It was a never-ending nightmare, but it's not over. So much more death will come. So much more horror. We know what will happen in four of the humans years time, fourteen of our Tiny Cycles. Avala will die. She will fail, her nemesis, Fate’s greatest champion, will win. It will all be for naught. All I can hope for, is that Fate will be stopped. Its all I can do, hope.
